Using an eclectic approach involving several counseling theories including cognitive behavioral and solution-focused. These theories provide us with the foundation of knowledge to help educate, enlighten, and “grow” clients in self-awareness. This growth ultimately enhances all aspects of the clients’ lives. We have a method of counseling that is tailored to the needs of the client, influenced by a goal of positive development, while searching thoroughly for the reason of inappropriate behaviors, often used as coping mechanisms. We will work together in the initial sessions to find the focus points (stressors) within your issues. We believe in helping clients to set realistic goals aimed at “easing up” those stressors. “Hope for change.”
The emphasis of family psychotherapy is to rebuild a stronger bond between the members of the family. The disruption of a healthy relationship can be attributed to substance use, infidelity, trust, and other familial issues. “You can’t choose your family, but you can choose to change your perspective.”
Most of the focus in this form of counseling involves problem-solving, enhancing communication skills, and improvements in the overall dynamics of the relationship. Topics include trust, infidelity, effective communication, blended family issues, and/or co-dependency. Usually, it is more effective to have multiple individual sessions and couple’s sessions simultaneously. “Let us help you and your significant other regain a healthy relationship.”
An evaluation conducted by a qualified substance abuse professional. According to the Secretary of State, this evaluation is mandated as one of the requirements to be considered to reinstate your license. Various assessments are completed in addition to the completion of the required forms deemed by the Secretary of State. This is not reimbursable by insurance companies. The cost of the assessment is dependent on multiple variables that are determined once a screening is completed. “Change is possible.”
