Hello, I am Nicole Hoxsey, MA LLC CAADC-DP. I’ve been practicing in the mental health and addiction field for over 10 years. In 2022, I earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from the University of Detroit Mercy. My specialization includes working with adults who suffer from addiction, anxiety and depression. Additionally, I have certifications in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Crisis Prevention Interventions.
My theoretical perspective of counseling is based on a collaborative, strengths-based and solution-focused approach. My goal is to empower clients by integrating mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques such as developing healthy thought patterns and behaviors. I believe in meeting clients where they are at therapeutically within a safe and accepting environment. If you’re struggling to live a sober lifestyle or regularly experience anxiety or depression, let’s chat. Together, we will explore your feelings, find meaning, and focus on your strengths to develop a plan for continuous growth.
I chose to become a mental health professional because I’ve experienced first-hand how addiction spreads and destroys relationships within a family system.
